VShell privacy notice
Version 1.0 — [date of first public release]
Draft for the lawyer check. Text in [square brackets] must be filled in before release.
This notice says what VAI SoftLab ("we") keeps about you when you use VShell and this website, and why.
1. What stays on your Mac
VShell runs on your own Mac. Your projects, files, team files, prompts, AI logins and voice stay on your Mac. Voice is turned into text and back on your Mac; it is not sent to us. We never see them.
2. What we keep
Only what we need to run your account:
- your email address;
- your name and picture, if you log in with Google or GitHub;
- when you signed up;
- the daily app check: app version, macOS version, time and network (IP) address.
3. Why we keep it
- to log you in and keep your account working;
- to send you the login link and a welcome email;
- to block an account that breaks the licence, and to stop robots signing up;
- to count users and app checks, so we know how VShell is used.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.
4. Who helps us
These services handle the data for us:
- Cloudflare: this website, the database and the downloads; it also checks that sign-ups are not robots (Turnstile);
- Resend (USA): sends the login and welcome emails;
- Google and GitHub: only if you choose to log in with them.
Some of them keep data outside Australia, for example in the USA.
5. Cookies
This website uses one login cookie. No tracking cookies, no advertising.
6. How long we keep it
- your account data: until you delete your account;
- app checks: [90 days].
7. Your choices
- You can delete your account at any time. This deletes your account data.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it.
- Write to us at [vshell@vaisoftlab.com].
